This section barely skims the surface of what is available to you as a mother in Vienna. Use this section to help you find some maternity clothes, baby and kids' clothes, furniture, toys, and more. For many mums moving here from countries where public transportation is rare and parking spaces galore, it is quite a feat to navigate the city with a baby in a buggy or while pulling along a toddler. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the need to find restrooms to use and preferably decent ones!

You will quickly discover that the weather in Vienna is completely unpredictable. Learn now never to leave the house without a jacket/sweater for you and child, an umbrella, the rain cover for the buggy, rubber boots, a blanket, hats, mittens, oh, and sand toys. Find what you need and head on out!

Children's Haircuts

The larger DM stores with in-house salons will cut children's hair for free up to age 4.

In the 18th District several members use Erich's Kinderladen, Plenergasse 28. Tel: 01 470 8061. They have toys available for while you wait. Your child sits in a car-shaped seat for the haircut and can watch a video for maximum distraction! 

City Kids Club

This activity centre located in the 1st District offers babysitting for children age 3-10 whilst parents shop, sightsee or just escape for coffee.
