Cafe - Restaurant Leiner
Leiner is one of the behemoth furniture/home deco stores in the city. While the food and drink are decent, the real perks are the kiddie playroom (a separate, smoke-free, glassed-in area with a small playscape) and the view (a spectacular vista of the Natural History and the Kunsthistorische museums). Another good spot for moms to meet and have a coffee or a bite to eat. There are full changing facilities available and you can pick up any baby/kid items you might need while there as they are near the cafe.

Buschenshank Nierscher
This is a Buschenshank (Heuriger) with a great range on offer to keep children amused. They have a play area (better for older children than small toddlers), animals (sheep, donkeys, owl, rabbits, chickens) and a large open garden. The tables are on a slope which overlooks the area, so you can keep an eye on them whilst enjoying some of their excellent wine and food (the quality of the food is great and they have some fantastic desserts). A lovely way to spend a sunny summer’s afternoon.

Address: Hauptstrasse 190, 3400, Weidling. Tel:02 243 33933
Transport: Easiest to reach by car. Take the road to Klosterneuburg, just before you enter Klosterneuburg, take a left at a set of lights just past a Billa sign - posted Weidling. Carry on along this road for ten minutes (left at the fork) and you will see Nierscher signposted on the right. Parking on the road or opposite. Alternatively from the 19th district drive straight up Sieveringerstrasse and continue on this road towards Klosterneuburg, Nierscher is on your left shortly after you pass a horse riding stables on the right hand side.
Age group: Great for toddlers and children, no specific baby facilities but plenty of grass to crawl on (there is a changing table in the WC hall and they often have one outside near the tables under a nice tree).
Landgasthaus Stockerwirt
This lovely restaurant is located in Sultz in the Wienerwald near Heiligenkreuz. It is quite pricey, but the food is delicious, focusing on seasonal menus (pumpkin, mushroom, asparagus), and the garden fantastic for the kids. The outside patio is bordered by a pond and a small playground. A manmade "stream" runs along the side providing hours (ok, minutes for some kids) of fascination, especially when a snake (thankfully harmless garden snakes!) or a frog comes roaming out to explore under your table. If you have guests in town and you don't mind splurging, try this as your destination after a winding drive through the Vienna Woods. Obviously to enjoy the garden the best times to go are late spring through fall.
