Volunteer

The VBC does not run itself! We are a completely volunteer-run organization, from the Group Coordinators to the Steering Committee. We need moms who are willing to be Group Coordinators to ensure that the Mothers' groups meet, Monthly Meeting Hostesses to run the monthly meetings, webmistresses to keep the web site updated, extra hands at the bi-annual flea market and any special events, and lots more. Without volunteers there is no group!

If you need a little extra brain stimulation, contact us and we can find a job for you.

What volunteers do for the VBC:

Group Coordinator: organize the mothers group to meet on a regular basis, maintains a list of all active members in the group, greets new members, collects unpaid fees.

District Coordinator: organize the district group to meet on a regular basis, maintains a list of all active members in the group, greets new members.

Group Coordinator Liaison, Steering Committee: oversees the coordination of the 15-plus mothers groups, helps find new Group Coordinators, informs new GCs of role, ensures smooth-running of mothers groups.

Social Activity Coordinator: organizes the social activity, informs members of meetings, greets new members.

President, Steering Committee: oversees the VBC as a whole, ensures VBC policies in place, plans future events, organizes SC meetings.

Treasurer, Steering Committee: maintains all documents for online banking, makes bank or cash transfers, keeps receipts, prepares an annual income statement, attends SC meetings.

Database Administrator, Steering Committee: maintains the entire VBC database, enters new member information, creates and updates lists for Group Coordinators and District Coordinators, notifies unpaid memberships, and attends SC meetings.

Social Activities, Steering Committee: oversees creation of new social activities and district groups as volunteers come forward, prepares monthly Social Activities email, plans VBC social activities such as holiday party, attends SC meetings.

Special Events, Steering Committee: oversees the biannual flea market, helps organize any special information evenings, attends SC meetings.

Notices, Steering Committee: prepares the weekly VBC Notices, maintains active member email list, attends SC meetings.

Monthy Meeting Hostess, Steering Committee: runs the Monthly Meetings, books the facility, buys snacks, sets up the hall, greets the attendees and introduces them to one another, talks to potential members, takes applications, and attends SC meetings.

Club Inquiries, Steering Committee: responds to email and phone inquiries about the VBC and membership, attends SC meetings.

Webmaster, Steering Committee: responsible for enhancement and maintenance of the VBC webpage, attends SC meetings.

VBC Forum, Steering Committee: Oversees the VBC Forum on Facebook, attends SC meetings.

Volunteer Your Time!

Pad your résumé! Exercise your brain! Give back to the VBC! Whether you are back to working outside of the home or not, you might be looking for a little bit of extra mental stimulation. If so, consider giving a little of your time to helping the VBC move along. We are always looking for extra hands and new ideas.
